San Antonio Local Style

 

Hola :) En el post pasado, te mostré el evento al que asistí en San Antonio (PRESTIGE). Ahí me encontré con todo tipo de estilos y tendencias, pero debido a que la tendencia de colores brillantes es de mis favoritas, elegí este look para compartirles. 

Quizás me hubiera parecido arriesgado usar jumpsuit, aretes, pulsera y collar, todo en turquesa; a ella no le importó y, mezclándo todo con un chongo despreocupado, sus RayBan y labios coral, se veía increíble.

Hey :) In the last post, I showed you the event I attended in San Antonio (PRESTIGE). There I saw all kinds of trends and styles, but since using bold colors is one of my favorite trends, I chose this look to share with you.  

Maybe I would've considered putting a turquoise jumpsuit, necklace, bracelet and earrings together, as too risky. Well, she didn't care and, styling it with a messy updo, her RayBan sunnies and coral lips, she looked amazing!

PRESTIGE

¿Cuántas veces en el día pensamos en todo lo que nos gustaría tener? Tanta ropa, zapatos, bolsas y demás conviertiéndose en una "necesidad". No tiene nada de malo soñar con tener el guardarropa de Carrie Bradshaw en nuestra casa, la moda nos permite expresarnos y mostrar al mundo parte de lo que somos.

Pero ¿qué pasa cuando olvidamos que hay cosas más importantes en el mundo? Tanta gente que no tiene qué comer, tantos niños que no pueden aprender. Es aquí donde entra Project Africa, una organización sin fines de lucro, cuya meta es contribuir a la educación de esos niños que viven en la pobreza, mediante la construcción de una escuela en Mali, África.

Para ello han organizado eventos con el fin de recaudar los fondos necesarios, PRESTIGE entre ellos, al cual tuve la fortuna de asistir. Es padrísimo ver que el mundo de la moda también tiene un lado noble y caritativo.

Mostrando looks de distintas boutiques como Aquarius, Penny Lane y Betsey Johnson, el equipo de Project Africa logró un show bastante interesante y divertido. Las bolsas son de la diseñadora mexicana Paola Peres. Me encantó la del moño rosa ;)

How many times in a day do we think about what we'd love to have? So many clothes, shoes, bags and endless things to add to our wishlist. There's nothing wrong with dreaming about having Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe, 'cause fashion helps us to express ourselves and show the world part of what we truly are.

But what happens when we forget that more important things are happening in the world? So many people in poverty, children that won't learn something as basic as writing and reading. That's when Project Africa comes in: a non-profit organization, which goal is to provide education to these children by building a school in Mali, Africa.

For that, they've put together some events, PRESTIGE included, which I had the wonderful opportunity to assist. It's so cool to see how fashion can have a kind and giving face.

Showing looks from different boutiques like Aquarius, Penny Lane and Betsey Johnson, the team of Project Africa pulled out a very interesting and fun event! The bags are from the mexican designer Paola Peres. I loved the one with the pink bow ;)

The great comeback!

Hola :) Por fin, después de casi dos meses sin escribir en el blog, vuelvo para compartirles mis pensamientos, gustos, y el estilo sin fin que veo diario. Este par de meses entre mis ocupaciones, vi mil cosas para escribir, pero simplemente no tenía tiempo. Ahora que estoy de vacaciones, tendré de nuevo la oportunidad de escribir y mostrarles todo.

HI :) Finally! After almost two months without posting in the blog, I comeback to share with you mi thoughts, likes, and endless style I see everyday. This couple of months, among all my occupations, I saw tons of things to write about, I just didn't have the time. Now I'm on a school break, and I'll have the opportunity to write and show you everything again.

Local Style: Jackie

Este es el primer post en el blog en el que muestro a la gente que está a mi alrededor. Jackie es algo así como mi cuñada :) es súper linda y definitivamente tiene mucho estilo! Anoche se la robé a su novio unos minutos y fue mi modelo. 

¿Qué tal? ;)

 Espero seguir con este tipo de posts pronto. ¡Tengo a varias niñas en la mira! haha :P

So, this is the first post on my blog showing some of the people that surrounds me. Jackie is kind of my sister in law :) she's super cute and sweet, and she definitely has a lot of style! Last night I took her from her boyfriend for a couple of minutes and turned her into my model.

Doesn't she look great? ;)

I hope to keep up with this kind of posts. I've got some girls in mind already :P

P.S. How lovely is my boyfriend's niece Dana?

Paris Fashion Week: Dior.

A pesar de la reciente noticia de que John Galliano fue despedido de la Maison Dior, el show de la temporada de Otoño se llevó a cabo, y fue todo un éxito. Además de los vuelos, transparencias, telas brillantes y colores otoñales, el toque femenino de Dior fue complementado por increíbles accesorios y maquillaje. 

Me atrevo a decir que fue la segunda mitad de la colección que me convenció a escribir sobre ella.  Después de todo: ¿Quién puede negarse a los vestidos blancos del final? Nadie.

Despite the news about John Galliano being dismissed from the Maison Dior, the FW11 Collection was successfully presented. Besides of the brilliant and sheer fabrics and the fall colors, the feminine touch proper of Dior was given by incredible accessories and makeup. 

I dare to say that it was until the second part of the collection when I completely convinced to write about it. After all, who can say "no" to those white dresses at the end? No one.
